The Kleentek Electrostatic Cleaner

  • Works as a bypass system on the oil tank, 24 hours a day.

  • Operating under zero internal pressure, the system prevents clogging even when processing highly contaminated oils. Consequently, it eliminates safety hazards—such as vibration, pipe failure, and oil leaks—while requiring no manual control or supervision.

  • The collectors (spare cartridges) are able to withhold huge quantities of contaminates, when compared with traditional filters. A Kleentek collector can withhold several kilograms of impurities without getting clogged. This ensures an extended service life and significantly lowers operating costs.

  • This highly sensitive and reliable detector monitors humidity and water contamination within the oil. Under normal conditions, oil acts as an insulator, and electrical current between the collector electrodes remains at zero. However, when moisture is present, current flows between the electrodes and is displayed in milliamperes (mA) on the control panel ammeter. If this current exceeds 15–20 mA (approximately 500 ppm of water), the cleaner automatically trips.

This mechanism provides continuous, real-time monitoring to detect water leaks immediately, regardless of the cause. Because water is one of the most destructive contaminants to both the oil and the internal circuitry, the system proactively removes moisture up to a threshold of 500 ppm.

  • Because the system avoids traditional mechanical filtration, the oil does not acquire an electrostatic charge. This eliminates the risk of spark discharge within the circuits—a primary cause of oil degradation and oxidation. Consequently, this technology significantly extends the service life of the oil.

  • The process does not deplete or alter the oil’s additive package in any capacity.

  • The process does not affect the chemical composition of the oil.

  • Its highly compact design maximizes space efficiency and simplifies deployment across diverse applications.

  • Power consumption is exceptionally low, ranging from 150 to 1,300 W, resulting in negligible operational energy costs.

  • Designed for low-flow by-pass installation, the unit operates seamlessly without affecting the pressures or flow rates of the host system.

  • Engineered for maximum structural integrity and long-term reliability, the system features a highly robust design. Globally, thousands of Kleentek cleaning units have demonstrated years of trouble-free operation in demanding industrial environments.

  • The unit has no specific maintenance requirements, eliminating unexpected costs.

Installation & Use

The Kleentek Electrostatic Cleaner operates as an offline, by-pass system, allowing connection and disconnection without requiring machinery shutdowns or production cycle interruptions. The cleaner features an integrated pump which creates a continuous oil flow, independent of and external to the machines circuit. It draws oil directly from the reservoir, processes it through the cleaner, and returns it to the tank continuously and autonomously.

Fixed Cleaner

The Electrostatic Cleaner can be used continuously to treat the oil in a single tank, for example in turbines and presses that operate with large volumes of oil.

Wheel-Mounted Cleaners

For facilities with multiple reservoirs containing smaller fluid volumes, a single wheel-mounted unit can be deployed dynamically across different tanks on a rotational maintenance schedule.

Unique Technology

The Kleentek Electrostatic Cleaner utilises a proprietary conditioning technology that delivers distinct operational advantages:
  • Filterless Electrostatic Separation: Conditions and purifies oil exclusively via electrostatic forces, entirely eliminating the need for conventional, consumable filtration elements.
  • Total Contaminant Extraction: Removes all particulate matter regardless of size, morphology, or chemical composition. It is uniquely capable of extracting insoluble oxidation sub-products, such as varnish and sludge, which conventional filters cannot capture.

  • System-Wide Decontamination: By maintaining exceptionally high fluid purity, the conditioned oil actively dissolves and flushes existing varnish deposits from the hydraulic or lubrication circuits. This keeps downstream critical components—including servo valves, pumps, and proportional valves—perfectly clean.

  • Extended Fluid Longevity: Significantly reduces fluid degradation rates, drastically extending the service life of the lubricant.

  • Transition from Consumable to Asset: Transforms industrial oil from a recurring consumable expense into a managed, durable asset that is preserved in peak operational condition indefinitely.

Results

  • Lowers Maintenance Costs: Decreases expenditure on spare parts and maintenance labour.

  • Minimises Unplanned Downtime: Reduces mechanical failures, component breakdowns, and unscheduled outages.

  • Optimises Valve Performance: Ensures smooth, consistent, and responsive operation of critical control valves.

  • Enhances System Reliability: Elevates overall hydraulic and mechanical efficiency across all connected machinery.

  • Accelerates System Start-Ups: Facilitates faster, trouble-free equipment activation and commissioning.

  • Mitigates Friction and Wear: Decreases mechanical drag to protect internal surfaces from premature wear.

  • Reduces Energy Consumption: Lowers operational power demand by optimising fluid dynamics and machine efficiency.

  • Improves Process Repeatability: Stabilises operating conditions to ensure consistent manufacturing processes.

  • Elevates End-Product Quality: Eliminates process variations to deliver higher product yield and fewer defects.

  • Extends Oil Service Life: Significantly prolongs lubricant longevity, reducing recurring costs.

  • Promotes Safer, Cleaner Systems: Fosters a contamination-free work environment that complies with strict safety standards.
